10 Crypto OGs - Where Are They Now?

Hello everyone!

The first historical snapshot which we can find on CMC (the below picture) has been taken on the 5th of May 2013 (funny fact is that our subreddit has been created on the 11 of March 2013) which is about 2 years after the Bitcoin creation. The below 10 projects are the OGs of all the today's projects, that's why I believe we should honor them and give them at least a bit of attention today.

1. Bitcoin - I dont think I need to say much about the king as everyone of us knows it. The BTC remains all these years as the #1 in the world and I strongly believe there will be no other project which will overtake Bitcoin's place. All heil the king!

1. Litecoin - another project very well known to all of us (at least should be). Through all of these years always in top 20, by many of us called the Bitcoin's brother, especially in old days.

1. Namecoin - project mainly focused on anonimity and security in the internet, I would call it Tor 2.0 but Namecoin doesn't use any of Tor's files as it's been build differently adn independent from the Tor. As you can see even if you would hold a bag of it since 2013 you still would be able to sell it with a bit of profit on few exchanges. I am not sure if the project is being continued.

1. Peercoin - as far as I know (I might be wrong and if I am please correct me) it's one of the first projects introducing two different mining algorithms: Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS). Even today the Peercoin is considered by me as a good, solid project. Of course, it will probably never have much attention in future but as a project/end product it's alright.

1. Feathercoin - the first project from the list in which you would lose money by hodling a bag of coins. The developers which created FTC moved to other projects so I would say the project has been abandoned some time ago, but in it's state, it's a complete, good project about which I can't say a bad word.

1. Freicoin - seems like the project is still being continued even though you can only buy it on FreiExchnage which sounds like it's their own CEX. Definitely not worth considering FRC as your future investment but it's an OG, so we are thankful for being in crypto world.

1. Terracoin - today's known Terra (LUNA) was not the first Terra in the crypto world, Fortunately the TRC has not become a scam like the Do Kwon's project, on January 2021 the core team of TRC decided to discontinue the project and gave it away to the community. Such a great way to say goodbye from the team.

1. Devcoin - in the second part of 2022 the devs of the Devcoin announced rebranding of their project, seems like it's being continued but unfortunately I couldn't find it listed on any exchange.

1. Novacoin - another PoS & PoW project, still being listed on two exchanges: Pancakeswap and already mentioned in this post FreiExchange. The project is still being continued to this day.

1. Mincoin - seems liek the project has been abandoned as I couldn't find much informations about it. Last posts on their social medias over 2 years ago confirms it.
