Hey everybody,
I simply got here across a submit about somebody who obtained hacked by means of Google and ended up dropping all their cash. From what I understand, their account was compromised, and the attackers used the Google Authenticator backup codes (which sync by default) to bypass 2FA.
Apparently, Google syncs these codes mechanically until you flip it off manually.
Right now, I have the following 2FA methods enabled on my accounts:
- Passkeys (Biometrics)
- Authenticator App
- E mail
- Telephone Number
My question is: Can I nonetheless get hacked and lose the whole lot even with all of these protections in place?
Is it potential, for instance, that the Authenticator App might override or bypass the opposite 2FA methods by some means?
Thanks prematurely for any perception.
