Many posts here seem to be heavy on opinion and light on stats. I just wanted to provide some insight into some interesting characteristics, including tokenomics, of some of the more popular blockchains, which often go unmentioned or underappreciated. I'm specifically going to focus on some of the popular proof-of-stake blockchains, and leave Bitcoin and other POW chains out of this analysis.

Total Value Locked (TVL) in DeFi
Ethereum: $26.032 B ($29.682 B if you include ETH L2s)
Polygon: $883 M
Cardano: $258 M
Avalanche: $593 M
Solana: $543 M
Polkadot: $150 M

Polygon: 1.169 B
Cardano: 17.64 M
Avalanche: 1.072 B
Solana: 4.508 B
Polkadot: Unknown
Draw your own conclusions below, but it appears to me that Ethereum dominates in every category. Polygon holds its own. Cardano, Avalanche, and Polkadot have some serious room for improvement. Solana tokenomics not good, but it seems to punch above its weight with active users.
