Bots for trading crypto on platforms like Kraken and Gemini - Is it even worth the effort for a Retail trader?

My concern is that when it comes to HFT, arbitrage across exchanges through bots, or any other short-time frame strategy - institutions would mostly be able to fk us retail traders. Has anyone successfully deployed any bots on these trading platforms?

I have been successful riding the volatility for the top few cryptos, entering and exiting in tranches based on my pre-determined optimal ranges. Crypto cycles are pretty short vs other asset classes and even riding vol with some patience makes you solid $$. And you rinse and repeat. But this strategy is longer-term in the world of trading with ranges pretty wide.

But I want to deploy some additional capital and experiment with other strategies that are short-term. Wouldn't know if I could squeeze out more until I try.
