In order to understand the sustainability of Bitcoin in the long term (when in a few years, the rewars becomes more and more irrelevant), we would need to know what would be the minimal security budget, but this also depends on the total value secured, which depends on the price, which depends on the adoption.
So if the adoption grows, fees will grow, but the price and the total value to secure would grow too.
So I would say that at any adoption level, the fees alone should already be enough to secure the network, or otherwise they will no be enough for any adoption level.
And here comes my question: are fees enough now to secure the current value of the network?
